Hi all, if I applied for a place for sept 2013 last October when can I re apply to that school?

Can I apply now for an in year transfer?

Thanks

Yes.
Are you still on the waiting list?
Have you appealed.

They don't have a waiting list as such. It is random allocation. Yes I appealled and lost.
I wasn't happy with the appeal and complained. The efa found in my favour and have requested a new appeal and fresh panel. Which I'm still waiting for a new date.

However would much prefer a transfer if I can.

The school have admitted a yr 10 pupil on wed and have been advertising for sixth form students even though all over PAN. yr 7 is the smallest yr group

Thanks

The school will have a list of people who want places and will conduct a random draw whenever a place becomes available. That still counts as a waiting list, it just means you don't know where you are on the list. At least until Christmas you will be in the running for any places that become available.

If you make an in year application it will fail as the school is full. You won't get an additional appeal and it won't increase your chances of getting a place if one becomes available. There is therefore no point.

After Christmas it may be different. It depends whether they continue to hold a waiting list beyond Christmas - they don't have to but many schools do. If they don't hold a waiting list you need to find out when a place becomes available and apply for it immediately.

Right now you need to focus on your fresh appeal. That is your best chance of getting a place quickly.
