Backback for sixth former

DS needs new backback - He wants one large enough for his books and files but not looking like 'a camping back pack' ie something out of Millets. We've looked online as couldn't find anything locally and he quite likes a red Timberland one. £40.00 - is that what you can expect to pay (his old one was bought years ago)?

I'm in favour of something that won't do his back too much harm as it's quite a walk to school and, obviously, robust. I think that some of the ergonomic school bags might not, perhaps, appeal to an older student.

At a loss to know which site to go to or which shops - live near a large town. Any ideas gratefully received!

Eastpak is the "in" make here. About £40.

Backback?

I paid about £40 for DS1's bag. It's a vans bag that we got from a local skate shop. He's happy with it and it's pretty robust. It's fine for his back.

You can buy them online. I think DS1's is the predecessor of the transient II skatepack. I'm pretty sure it wasn't as much as £50 though.

Thanks stillstanding and arbitrary - and such swift responses!
Looked at both and DS has chosen Eastpak - ordered! £34.00 for something that certainly looks robust and plenty big enough.

I wouldn't worry about finding a bag that won't do his back too much harm.
£10 says he'll carry it over one shoulder anyway, rather than the way they are supposed to be carried.
