Hello there, we're living in Bromley North village but now thinking of moving for the good secondary (we've got two boys). I'd just like to get some inside info about the above schools, or any others for that matter. Perhaps your children go to one of those, or you heard something from other parents? I'd be really grateful for any input.

Both of mine go to Hayes. It's a fab school, they really seem to care about their students. DS has just finished year 11, and did really, really well.

DS goes to Ravens Wood. We're both very happy with it. TBH have heard good things about the others you mention (Darrick Wood and Ravensbourne). OP, how old are your boys? At present it's not unfeasible to be in the catchment for more than one of these schools, but things may be different in a few years' time.

Ihatemytoes and Twistlethant - thank you! My boys are very young, the eldest just starts Year 1, but we can buy now and I want to choose the right location.... I totally agree that things will change when they start but we wouldn't like to move again....

Everybody's advice is very sound. However, it's important to remember that your child is different to any other, anecdotal information does not always stand up to generalisation, so your child's experience of the school could be very different. If you are moving for a good school, you need to go to open evenings this time round, and see what kind of a feel you get. I always recommend www.how-to-choose-a-school.org/ for being impartial and helpful in deciding the right school.
