How much writing, rather than typing in Y10/11?

DS has a desk with PC, so monitor and keyboard take up quite a bit of room, so not that much space for spreading out A4 sheets of paper, text books etc, like I used to when I was at school.

He isn't particularly fond of homework, and he's either copied and pasted from the internet typed it, or done it on the bus on the way to school.

But now he's going into Y10, he tells me he's going to make an effort. Smile Does he need a bigger desk? Do they actually write much. I don't want to get another desk, and reorganise his room if he's just going to type and print everything.

My DS would avoid writing anything where at all possible which is just as well as his hand writing is dire. So no, he didn't need writing space.

All his homework was done on a computer desk with a monitor and hard drive on it. I think I managed to drum it into him that copying and pasting and changing a few words would not fool the teachers, so I think he did genuinely research and then compose his own answers.
He may need more space when it comes to revision, but as others have advised on another thread, this is best done somewhere you can see him such as kitchen/dining table.

In this house he would get nothing done at the kitchen/dining room table. It's far too busy!
