Waiting for DS1's Gcses results on 22nd of August. He did really well last year but, all the talk of moving grade boundaries has got me worried. Fingers are very tightly crossed for maths as this is the subject he struggles with most.

DD is still asleep. She only took one this year and her result is due by email at approx 10am. I suspect I might have to go and wake her, because all the nervous tension yesterday has probably sent her into a DEEP sleep. I dread to think what it will be like in this house next year! Good luck everyone.

This pouring rain and dark leaden sky are not helping my feelings of impending doom.

I've sat in front of so many teachers telling me how frustrating DS is, how we'll he could do if he just got his head down. If the worst has happened and 6th form decide they can manage quite well without him, it's going to be difficult for me not to go into the garden and scream ' I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!'

I will have a little cry though. Good luck everyone, hope you all get good news.

Thinking of you all and hope that it's all good Smile Flowers

DS has just left to get the bus. I did offer a lift, but he didn't want it. So now I just have to wait for his text. Hope everyone gets what they deserve.

duchesse · 22/08/2013 08:43

DD2 left this morning with DH, was going to walk in to school from his work (about a 20 mn walk) and has banned me from the entire city. So I wait for a text as well. She said she'd take the train back and then walk back from the station.

AntoinetteCosway · 22/08/2013 08:49

I have so many tutees who were on the D/C borderline. I know I won't be a priority but I hope their parents get in touch-I'm desperate to know how they've done!

prettydaisies · 22/08/2013 08:52

Younger DD's school's GCSE grades were quite poor last year which resulted in an OFSTED inspection and then special measures. I really hope they've done better this year.

AmazingDisgrace · 22/08/2013 09:00

Daughter has left to get hers. She was pretending not to be stressed or nervous but was practically shaking. If Gove's meddling has fucked this up for her I'm going to go nuts. She's bright and worked her socks off. It's too early for Wine but by god I feel like one

Horsemad · 22/08/2013 09:00

Oh God, I feel sick.

johnworf · 22/08/2013 09:03

It's gone 9 o'clock and I feel nervous. No idea why as none of mine are waiting on results!

missbopeep · 22/08/2013 09:03

Whatever happens it's not the end of the world- there are retakes and it's only their first step in many years of exams. (I speak as a mum of two graduates who had 7 years at uni between them.)

magentadreamer · 22/08/2013 09:08

DD is a C/D for English Lang. WJEC has now released their Grade boundaries. DD resat the exam units in Jan and got a high C for reading paper with max UMS and missed out on a C grade by one mark on the other paper. She needs another 70 UMS to scrap a C grade. I am more optimistic then I was last night.

Good luck to all.

OrmirianResurgam · 22/08/2013 09:09

ds and his friends didnt go to sleep. they stayed downstairs watching game of Thrones. about 3am ds made tea and bacon sandwiches. And he was complaining about having to get up early! They are leaving in 20 minutes.

Merrylegs · 22/08/2013 09:11

Right, ds still snoring away so am going to kick gently rouse him out of bed. He only has til 10.30 to pick them up. He worked his socks off but is at best a B student (apart from PE, he is mega sporty) so v nervous of those grade boundaries, poor kid.

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 22/08/2013 09:14

JW you can feel nervous for me if you like! After DD2's fab results last week, we have DS's today. J is on his way to school now, has managed to rope DD1 into driving him there. Lord knows how he managed that. It will have cost him at least a bottle of vodka I suspect Grin

No talking from DD1 this morning bit she has been tweeting how nervous she is. I have had breakfast but feel sooo sick. We aren't leaving till 9.50 so have ages to wait. She is now not sure whether she wants me there, wait in the car park or go for coffee as originally planned .

Good luck everyone ((hugs)) to all dc's.

johnworf · 22/08/2013 09:16

My daughter has just gone to meet her friends to walk into school together. I gave her a big hug and then burst into bloody tears!!! She just gave me a Hmm look and walked off!

Me ..stressed..never!

FrauMoose · 22/08/2013 09:50

Yes! (Punches air and then feels vaguely ashamed of herself.)

alistron1 · 22/08/2013 09:54
