Hi, my daughter has just received her year 7 report and I was unsure whether she was achieving as she should as I am unsure what is average by the end of year 7.
Her results and aspirational targets are as follows and it would appear she hasn't achieved all her aspirational targets and I wonder whether I should be concerned about this. I would really appreciate any feedback on this.

                  level aspirational target

English 7c 7c
Maths 6a 7b
Science 6b 5a
Art 5c 5c
DT 4a 5c
French 4a 4a
Food studies 4b 4b
ICT 4a 5c
Music 4c 4a
PE 4b 4b

Many thanks

My daughter only reached half of her targets and I know some of her friends reached more targets than her, so I was a little worried. However, she has been invited to tea and biscuits with the Headmaster, which is a real privilege from what I can gather, so they obviously feel she has worked hard.

It must have been explained to you that the national expectation at the end of year 9 is a high 5 to a mid 6 so I think you know that she's doing extremely well.

Congratulations on our very bright daughter, you should rightly be proud

Year 7 targets are often set based on year 6 achievement, I think the secondary schools criteria is tougher, I understand this creates a dip in achievement in year 7. Having said that her results are good, nothing to worry about.

Congratulations to your daughter. As I suspect you know, she is doing very well indeed.
