Does this exam have any equivalence to a GCSE?

Not heard of it but level 1 quals are pre-GCSE - broadly KS3 equivalents. (Assuming it's an English qual.)

Oops of course it's English it's AQA.

titchy · 27/06/2013 08:09

Actually strike that - level 1 are D - G grade gcse equivalents aren't they?

LIZS · 27/06/2013 08:15

Level 1 is a lower level GCSE equivalent, level 2 the equivalent of A-C

bruffin · 27/06/2013 08:31

Thanks - so if she got a distinction its equivelent to a D grade GCSE?

I would guess so , although I'm not sure it necessarily cross references like for like. It won't count as one of the 5 A-C's many subsequent courses require, so she'd probably be looking at a Level 2 next.
