My DS is just finishing Y7 at a selective school where the vast majority of the children had done French for several years before, so he's had to catch up with some stuff that had already been covered. I think the amount they've done is insane, frankly.
Grammar-wise he's learned all 3 regular present tense conjugations, loads of irregulars (including devoir, pouvoir, vouloir, lire, ecrire, faire, aller, prendre...), near future (je vais faire qqch), perfect (both avoir and etre as auxiliaries) including lots of irregular past participles and imperfect. He's also learned relative clauses (qui/que), negatives (including ne jamais, ne nulle part and ne aucun), apres avoir and avant de.
Vocab includes all the usual - countries and nationalities, food and drink, family and the home, towns and transport, clothing, hobbies, school and subjects.
I know he's done all this as he has weekly tests which he asks me to test him on at home.
