I am looking at independent schools for my daughter. What is it I should be looking for ? What makes a good school and what makes a bad school. What have schools told you that has helped you make your decision ?

Is it predominantly an "academic" school or is it one aimed at all abilities? What is heavily promoted - music/drama/sport? What results do the girls get? Where do they go on to? How many stay for sixth form? What are the results like?
The best advice I got about choosing a school was "to think about what they don't tell you". If they don't mention results, you can assume they are nothing to rave about. If sport is barely mentioned, then there won't be much going on in the sports area. What do you want? What would suit your daughter?

I think you need to decide what you want in a school and visit them to see if you like the vibe.

There are many excellent private and state schools across Sussex and Kent and so it comes down to what you personally want from the education for your dd.
