Thanks Sue - I've got dd1 doing A levels and dd2 doing GCSEs. Arghhh!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/05/2013 21:06

A2 not AS - I am feeling v old.

bruffin · 12/05/2013 22:24

Thanks Sue
Ds has core1 maths and philosophy and ethics AS tomorrow.
Next year will have Dd doing gcse and DS
taking A2s.

PhyllisDoris · 12/05/2013 22:28

Same here Remus. Though older DD worryingly laid back about the whole thing Hmm

BackforGood · 12/05/2013 23:03

Thanks Sue - ds is straight in with 2 x 1.5 hour papers tomorrow morning, with a 5min gap timetabled between them!

mindgone · 13/05/2013 00:05

Same here remus and phyllis, but with boys! Am dreading study leave! Lots of good plentiful food and Wine needed! First exams tomorrow, C1 maths resit for DS1 and French for DS2. Best of luck to all.

Isthiscorrect · 13/05/2013 04:39

Good luck all. We are straight in this morning with economics. History tomorrow, 2 more on Friday, 2 next week then it's all over. Just the finger nail munching til August.
Yy to good food, rest, wine (and that's just me!).

Theas18 · 13/05/2013 08:30

THanks! Just send DS an encouraging text before his 1st exam ( music so a good start for him) . Then maths ( core 1 I think) this pm

DS started on 30/4 with his music performance. He's got a couple a week till the week after half term too.

Do pass my top tip on. It's not original but always will stand repeating read the instructions and each question at least 2x before diving in. You get no marks for a perfect answer to a different question, and no benefir from answering 4 parts instead of 3 (and 3 parts perfectly of a 4 part q still is only 3/4 of the marks!)

I really feel for those of you with DC doing GCSE and ASs at the same time. The stress levels in your home must be on the hIgh side.

Thanks Sue. DD has Core 1 maths and mechanics this afternoon.

Good advice Thea, I have always told her to read the questions carefully, it is so easy to lose silly marks.

Good luck everyone!

fivefathoms · 13/05/2013 09:00

First AS this morning and first GCSE tomorrow, it's really here at last and i just hope they have done enough. Good luck to all!

bruffin · 13/05/2013 16:30

DS really pleased about Core 1 and said philosophy was ok.

mindgone · 13/05/2013 17:06

bruffin, DS1 thought core 1 was fine too, good to know!

bruffin · 13/05/2013 18:38

Ds said there was one question that threw them but they all came up with same answer.

monikar · 13/05/2013 19:30

DD is happy with Core 1 too, what a relief.

BeckAndCall · 14/05/2013 07:42

Another house happy with C1 here. Ws it the reciprocal graph question, Bruffin? Same reaction here, but it's the right answer in the end......

BeckAndCall · 14/05/2013 07:43

And I did wait until after 4.30 am to post that! (Must remember the embargo times for the rest of them too....)

bruffin · 14/05/2013 09:37

Think it maybe that one Beckandcall. Its circle on a graph or something and a lot of work gor 2 marks.

BeckAndCall · 14/05/2013 10:17

Sounds like the one. One things for sure - I couldn't have done it!

bruffin · 14/05/2013 11:21

Nor meGrin
