I've been waiting for someone to start this (was on the 2012 thread last year and am unlucky enough to have dc 18 months apart in consecutive school years!) Please join me to support and share the angst with only four weeks to go now to the first written exam.

Still at the coalface here with four more exams - DS is doing grumpy revising in the kitchen.

DD1 came home feeling very flat on Friday despite nice day out with her friend. then fell asleep on the sofa at 8pm, unable to wake her so left her there - she woke at 8am this morning much happier!

I think she's been running on a fair bit of adrenalin the last five weeks, and she's just gone 'flump'.

So now we ignore the whole thing til Aug 22 - which I guess is another thread!

Good luck and bon courage to all those who are still going - the end is truly in sight Smile Wine Flowers

I think this weeks maths exams may prove a bridge too far for Dd1. I think she's supersaturated with revision, and exam stress, and her resolve has gone. She hasn't done much revision this weekend, that's for sure. Perhaps it's for the best. Sanity is important too.

Good luck to everyone with exams to go.

We have had a quite weekend, and DD is now getting ready for normal school to start again tomorrow.

Her school does 10 GCSEs in year 10, and in year 11 they do more GCSE (or retakes) or start on AS or Level 3 BTECs.

Just two more here, DS says he wants to do nothing for a week afterwards! Grin

He's going to a friend's birthday party in the evening after his last exam, so no doubt will revel in his 'freedom'!

All over for DD today with Physics this morning.
Said it was the worst of the lot, shame as one of her best subjects and she's down for A level.
Only needs to return to school for instrument lesson and performance rehearsals now.

Good luck to all those DC with exams still to go, not long now.

Bunches of Flowers for everybody whose dc are still slogging through the mire. Not long to go now!

no-calculator Maths today - was 'alright'. Maths again on Friday - to be honest I can't see her doing huge amounts of revision for it, and neither will I force her. This has been dragging on for so long!

Wish they went back to school after - although it'll be nice having her around, it'll drive dd2 up the wall, and really there's not much point, is there, when they could be getting on with some other stuff. Obviously not everyone's staying there for sixth form I suppose.... but a whole extra month off does seem a bit of a waste of time.

Hallelujah!!! last one done ....

ds1 has been Mr Grumpy from Grumpsville the last couple of days so I'm hoping he starts cheering up now ...

Going to celebrate by getting him a new phone (has been phoneless since conveniently getting his old one nicked just before the exams started), book return day on Friday then a week of freedom before work experience - good thing he's only got one more day of uniform to go ... his school trousers are being held together by sheer willpower Wink I refused to get any more for this term and we've been doing running repairs with officially sanctioned lowriding as they're too short (well, what does he expect if he suddenly decides to go and grow 3 inches in the summer term ....)

All done here, too. Hope everyone's dc have a great summer - they deserve it!

One last evening of Maths revision (past papers), slightly ratty DD - possibly a bit anxious and a bit resigned about tomorrow's exam. After a long slog I would say it hasn't been as angst ridden as I had anticipated but I get the feeling that, having finally reached the last exam, it is a bit of an anti-climax.

Good luck to all still at the exam coalface. I'm sure DD will give it her best tomorrow am and then it's signing off with staff and off to congregate with friends in town - weather permitting!

DD1 did 8 hours solid revision today. Spent the evening watching Star Trek and the apprentice. She earned it. Looking forward to the rest of her life after tomorrow morning.

Two left.... and then I think dd needs some domestic science lessons, because after I left her yesterday to sort her own lunch, I found the iPad by the oven, open at a tab 'how do I know if bacon is cooked?'. Grin

ALL DONE!!! Grin

Thank God. I've got 2yrs 'til DS2 does them - then DS1 will be doing A levels. Think I'll check out for the summer that year!!! Dreading it already.

All done and dusted here.
DS has to go back to school on Monday for the rest of term (he's not happy - it's the first time they've done this), so is making the most of tomorrow!

DS said Chemistry was "tedious but hard" I'm not sure what that meansHmm.

Just one final one left now. Its a pity its monday not tomorrow but its nearly all over with now.

SteamingNit DS is at the opposite end of the cooking scale - he thinks he's Jamie Oliver. It would be fab if he didn't leave the kitchen looking like a bombsite.

Hooray. DS has finally finished GCSE's with Further Maths Paper 2 today. It's been a long drag this week as most of his friends finished days ago, whilst he's had 3 exams this week.

Fully expected him to walk straight in and switch the computer on and start playing Minecraft at lunchtime, but he came and sat on the sofa in the living room with me, which is unusual. It was almost as if he didn't really know what to do with himself now that its all over and I will no longer be nagging him about revision, at least until school restarts.

Report
webwiz · 21/06/2013 15:56

Envy bigbluebus - DS has gone into school as they were going to do Physics revision all day and then he wouldn't have to do any over the weekend.

DD1 has been really quite grumpy today. Like your DS, Big , I think she's a but at a loss as to what to do with herself. But she cheered up in time for her singing lesson.

Celebrating here too that they are all over for my DD. Poor thing, though we've all been suffering from the fall-out of the anxiety around it all. I'm not thinking about next summer when I'll have one on AS level and one on GCSEs!
