Converting to academy status - what to expect next

Our secondary school is having academy conversion forced on it due to being placed in special measures. We are due to hear any day that the academy Order has been made so the name of the sponsor can be made public.

We're been told that as soon as this happens the news will be announced in the school newsletter.

So what happens after that?

Will the sponsor (we know it's another local academy school) call a meeing at the school to explain next steps? People are concerned about how the change will affect our school and our children and would like the chance to have an open forum to discuss this.

In your experience has this happened or have you just received a series of letters explaining things?

Also, as our school is currently called a Community School, I've heard that an academy can no longer use the word "community" in its name. Is this correct?

Our school is a converter academy and a primary school so I can't answer your questions about sponsors, but what I can say that it has retained the word community in its name so it was XX Community School and is now XX Community School Primary Academy (bit of a mouthful though).
