A thread for those miserable about school place offered

I am unhappy at the 2ndary school place offered to my ds today. He is a sensitive boy who has been bullied at primary school and would be eaten alive at the school allocated. There is a hope of getting another school offered later in the Spring, as the various rounds proceed. We just have to grit our teeth, wait and hope.
I am fed up of reading other parents rejoice on facebook etc about their relief about getting their first choice. So here is a thread for anyone who wants to wallow with me.

From what I've seen/heard, the waiting lists do move pretty quickly, so fingers crossed you get something more suitable.

I'll join the 'miserable about school place offered' and double the misery LOL! My twins were not offered our first choice. So on the waiting list for 2 places and considering an appeal but thinking I'll not have much chance of persuading the school that it is the best choice for both of my kids - they do both have different characters and different needs!

My daughter has been allocated a place at a horrible school where NOBODY wants to go to... hence there are vacancies. We had SIX schools on our list but she obviously didn't get into any of them. And now??? Well I declined the offer immediately and I will put her on the waiting list of all of them. I'd love to know if anyone has appealed for a place. Is there a chance to appeal if the schools selected provides a subject in the curriculum that no other school offers and that is particularly suited to my daughter abilities. I am referring here to a language ...her mother tongue.
