Any powerpoints on 'doing good'?

Sorry for what seems a but of a plea, but do any secondary teachers have any assembly powerpoints on 'goodness'? helping others etc?

Am struggling to create one by friday - DD's are unwell and I'm not far behind! I can cough for Britain at the moment and my sinus's are huge Sad

Sorry no PPt. Maybe an idea or two.

Is it a class or school?

Could you get post it notes, get them to write their idea of 'goodness' and then put them on a board. Lots of time wasting potential here.

Pick odd ones to read out or get the kids to do it.

Or

Go to the random acts of kindness thread and maybe this video

I realise that is kindness rather than goodness. Maybe give the kids paper that is red on one side and green on the other (or maybe better black white in case you have colour blind kids) and get them to vote for good or kind when the video is on.

Am I alone in being shocked at this post? Interested which school this is for and if it is the norm to ask for an assembly powerpoint on a chat forum...

grovel · 26/02/2013 15:46

anniesw, can't see a problem with it. I actually wish teachers shared more across schools.

Are you aware of the website slideshare?

rezzle · 26/02/2013 16:44

Sorry posted too soon and that sounded a bit abrupt. Hopefully you'll be able to find something on there.

Dominodonkey · 26/02/2013 20:08

"Am I alone in being shocked at this post?"

Probably.

Most secondary teachers are far too busy teaching, marking and planning their subject lessons to spend hours preparing assemblies from scratch as well.

ArbitraryUsername · 26/02/2013 20:11

You can also find presentations on the prezi.com/. There are loads on good deeds, for example.

ArbitraryUsername · 26/02/2013 20:12

You can make a free account and often make copies of existing prezis then adapt/edit them as required.

tethersend · 26/02/2013 20:20

Ask the students to help you with the assembly- they can each submit one slide.

Point made.

SpeccyBat · 26/02/2013 20:34

Thanks to you all for your great suggestions - I'm off to have a look at those web-sites now. It's a whole school assembly rather than a class, so post-its are not possible, although definitely one to bear in mind for the future.

tethersend Grin I wonder if the students would 'get it'? Hmm, knowing my lot, perhaps not Hmm

You could do something on the 'pay it forward' idea...
