My daughter has just failed the entrance exam for KCS, we were quite confident that she would get in. I have called the school but there are unable to offer any feed back? Has anyone been in a similar situation and how can you find out more details?

Hi I have no experience of senior school but by son did not get through at 7+ last year and I was given quite a comprehensive feed back on how he did in the interview, assessment and test (including marks etc) Please write to them and you will get some feed back it will may not be immediate and can take upto 8-12 weeks, in my case it helped me prepare him for the next round of tests but in yours it may not be so useful as there are no second chances. Good luck in your search for a good sixth form for your daughter!

In my experience, King's aren't a stuffy bunch, so do persevere in asking for a response. If it's any consolation, they probably had about 5 or 6 applications per place. It's an incredibly busy time and they will be focussing on getting acceptances from those who they offered to, so give them a little time and then ask again. Keep in mind that if your daughter was good enough to sit the exam, she is likely to be successful, wherever she goes.
