Would you send them in and hope that they do well or keep them off until better? (its food poisoning so might feel better by the afternoon)

They always get another chance to do it. We were on holiday Blush when ds had a controlled assessment in French the day before half term, so the teacher sat him in a cupboard and he did it on another day.

For the English CA some people who had been absent did it after school.

After all, it is not like the old days when the questions were a surprise and so you had to go and spend the night with a teacher if there was an exam clash !

I wouldn't send your poor dc in with food poisoning. Imagine having to speed out of the classroom at 100mph - or having an accident...

Agree with letty don't send him in - he can always do it after school. But don't let him let it drift though. He must see his daughter when he gets back and arrange a time to do it.
Letty I would be highly unimpressed that I had to supervise your child for a ca when they had missed it for a holiday. You are right to be embarrassed.

Not his daughter, his teacher.

Yes going on holiday in Y10 is a bit cheaky, but CA's move.

I've had to chase our SENCO to get DD1 her extra tinme confirmed, because English decided to have a CA two weeks earlier than they said.

The SENCO had scarcely got the assessment results in. the time tabling was stupid.

DD1 and several of the others also had the inevitable mid Oct bug to contend with, doing it that early really was daft.

Eek. DS missed one today (at least I should think he did) because his orthodontist appt overran by a whole hour.

Fingers crossed that they can reschedule (and pref not for lunchtime as he needs feeding a lot, frequently, to be at all intelligent or nice to know)
