DD has just completed her first controlled assessment in English and has been told it was 'Band 5'. Can anyone tell me what that means please?

No idea Dd did hers before half term and she was marked A which was 26/30 but retook and got 29/30 which was A*. That was speaking and listening.

Band 5 is the highest band and means that she should be on target for an A or A*. Bands are not grades, so this is not a given. But it is a very promising start.

Ah ok - that's reassuring, thanks very much Smile
