Marlborough College - views?

Anyone got any views on MC, especially with the arrival of the new Head? Do they make sure the kids work hard, especially at the beginning? How are the music, sports? Do the boys and girls just work normally alongside each other or are there any issues (relationships and more?). DH and I are debating the coed and single sex issue for secondary. Thanks

Highly selective boarding schools are easier to get into as generally less competition - especially girls schools at 11 plus entry. Less can afford the astronomical fees. A few v over subscribed though. It's generally far more difficult to gain entry to a super selective London day school at 11 than a selective boarding school.

Boarding school will also look at a child's other attributes & ability to thrive in boarding community. What do people classify as selective versus super selective when it comes to boarding schools? I would class Eton & Wycombe Abbey as being super selective maybe a few more - not sure if Westminster is boarding too?

Have to make a choice between Cheltenham Ladies or Marlborough for my academic very fun daughter. Any advise?

DP was at Marlborough and thoroughly loved. I know nothing of it now except both DD's are at Cheltenham Ladies College and when Marlborough visit for matches their girls are well behaved, polite and well presented. Seems a good sign to me.
