I am currently considering Halliford School, Shepperton or Claremont Fan Court School, Esher for my son. I would be really interested to hear peoples experiences of the schools. I am still weighing up the pros and cons of co-ed v's boys school. Also, I have heard mixed views re Claremonts scientology background - I am told it is part of their heritage rather than something that it is prevelant in their ever day teaching ?

Claremont has nothing to do with Scientology!
It was founded in the 1920s by Christian Scientists, who are a Protestant group, I would say very similar to Methodists.
No, it is not a religious school at all.
I would say a good, mainstream school. Good pastoral reputation, good for behaviour and for dealing with bullying and so on. Academically selective, probably similar academically to most other smaller local independent schools, perhaps a bit stronger than Halliford.
