Planning a family move to Woodbridge..help pls re schools??

Any recommendations for secondary and primary schools in the area? I can see there's Farlingaye, Thomas Mills and Woodbridge Schools? Whate are they like? Are there any more? Would love to hear from anyone with kids at the schools as will be applying for eldest son soon. And ratings on primarys in the area? For the other 2 kids.
Oh...and while I'm at it...what's it like to live there, with a family? We'll be returning from abroad so slightly anxious about everything!!

Farlingaye/Thomas Mills both state and popular with good results :)

Woodbridge is private - am guessing good results too.

No idea on Primary schools - sorry.

Both Farlingaye and Thomas Mills are excellent although very difficult to get places at other than yr7 and for sixth form . Woodbridge also excellent , not too selective, amazing music and drama as well as good value added.
Primary schools in Woodbridge all good , Kyson probably the most popular , followed by St Mary's but Woodbridge primary also well regarded. Difficult to go wrong on schools in this area really .

Wonderful area to bring up a family, lots of open space,, beaches, etc.can be a bit sleepy for teens but depends on what they are into. Children here are not very "streetwise" IYKWIM.

what's the social life like there?

I can't help on schools as I don't live there, but do visit often and it's a beautiful town in which to bring up children. Lovely restaurants, clothes boutiques, home interiors etc and, every so often, a really fab vintage market in the Market Square (a Christmas one coming up next). I have always found the residents to be very friendly and it feels (at least to an outsider) that there is great sense of community. The period houses are to die for. It always makes me feel like I am stepping back in time slightly, back to when it was fine to smile and greet others in the street without people thinking it weird. I hope you're very happy in your move.

I have a child who has just started Farlingaye, seems to be going OK. Alot of children at Farlingaye appear to get the bus to school, so even if you live in one of the surrounding villages for which farlingaye is the catchment school, transport should not be a problem to/from school. The school also provide late buses 3 nights a week so children can attend after school clubs. I am also local to the area, so feel free to PM me if you want more info. I don't know how to PM so I can't help there!!

The social life is Ok,depends what you are into really.It is quite a busy social place but it is essentially a small market town ,no massive cinema ,local theatre Ok and Woodbridge school also has a theatre,fantastic music festivals at Snape and Summer theatre at Aldeburgh and Southwold,wouldn't really recommend Ipswich but it has some good points.

My ds has just started at Woodbridge school (yr 7) and is loving it so far. The results there are good, but it also offers a lot of great activities not just a good academic education.
