Latymer School Aspergers

My year 5 son has AS and a full-time statement at our local primary school. He is 'AS clever' (top of year and exceptional at maths/science/reading - poor imagination for creative writing). While he does find the social/emotional world difficult, he is extremely outgoing and has a few good friends. He falls between stools re secondary - needs to be in the state system for the support but is academically very able and eager. We need an academic secondary at a reasonable distance from Islington - Owen's is too far (very few local friends) - that has great pastoral care and understands idiosyncratic kids. Does anyone have experience of Latymer (the Edmonton one) that might help us? Or any other suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello there's thread about latymer on the education section that it might be helpful to wade into - there's someone on there with a child at the school.
Good luck with finding a school for your ds, he sounds like any school would be lucky to have him.
