E-MAILS to school....

This is going to sound like a very silly plea for help...but I dont't want to get my first one wrong !!

I might have to send an e-mail to ds's (yr7)..some one ?HOY or HOL... not a complaint just a querry and I dont know how I would sign off. What is the etiquete ?

1)Many thanks Mrs (1st name)(surname)
2)"" "" "" "" Mrs (surname only)

or with Kind Regards and one of the name choices .I don't want to come across as an idiot .....which i might be seeing as i don't know how to semi-fermal letters !!

When I emailed by DS1's secondary school I signed it:

First name & Surname (Mother)

Never got any feedback telling me otherwise, so think I might have done something right

See I cant even spell either.....semi-formal letter !

I write:

Dear Ms Smith,

Best regards,

Jenai Marr (Son's name's mother)

Which is much as I would for work, although we address people by their forenames, never by their title.

Teacher here, first name surname would be fine. Your relationship wouldn't be necessary if you'd written 'I'm writing about my son X' or whatever in the email.

Many thanks or kind regards are both fine! I've had loads of emails from parents and I promise we don't scrutinise how you sign off. Just don't use txt spk :)
