Cognitive ability test

Just found out ds2 will be taking a 3 hour cognitive ability test tomorrow on his first day at his new school yr7, shall we tell him or not?

Wow, a 3 hour test on Day 1. That sounds a fun induction. Maybe move school?

My DD will be doing hers on the 10th so not straight in at the deep end.

I am not going to say anything. The whole point of these tests is that they should not be drilled for - schools use them because children are so heavily coached for SATs that the results can't be trusted. So I'm going to just let DD go in and get on with it. She likes the kind of logic puzzles that will be involved, so it shouldn't be a problem.

We had a little chat this am and he asked if it was kind of like a quiz! I said yer kind of. Anyway he skipped out at home time and said it was fine, easy in fact!
