DDs school have a buddy system and her 'buddy' is a Y6 boy who's been just brilliant. I want to get him a present as he's going to big school in September and I'm so grateful for the support he's given her (she's a summer baby and has had a bit of trouble getting settled at school). I don't really know anything about him, am happy to spend maybe £10-£15 and don't know where to start. Would really appreciate any thoughts, thanks.

What a lovely storySmile

If it was DS, he would love an itunes voucher. Or a voucher for a sports store!

cocolepew · 13/07/2012 18:18

DD was very pleased to be given an Amazon voucher. There's more to pick from on there if you're not sure what he likes.

TalkinPeace2 · 13/07/2012 18:51

just asked my kids (y7 & y9)
they both said Amazon as it covers everything

KitKatGirl1 · 13/07/2012 21:01

Not really itunes Iwouldn't have said...my yr 6 doesn't listen to music yet...but Amazon definitely if you don't know him at all...!

BrigitBigKnickers · 14/07/2012 15:31

What about a play.com voucher?

TheFallenMadonna · 14/07/2012 15:33

DS wouldn't know what itunes was, but would love an amazon voucher.

twoterrors · 17/07/2012 07:49

Ahhh Smile.

Amazon voucher and if you ever get the chance, tell his parents. I would be so proud if that were my son!

slightlycrumpled · 17/07/2012 07:53

My 11 year old son was given a big bar if his favourite chocolate by his reception buddy, he was really chuffed. So was I when his mum came up to me to tell me how he had helped her chd settle in and how lovely he was. I was a very proud mummy.
Lovely thought. Smile

Hex bugs are v popular like this.
DS had a YR person to 'buddy', was very proud of him, and would have been chuffed to bits to get a present!

Yr 6 boys are also obsessed with nerf guns, but you need to know where the parents stand!

whojamaflip · 17/07/2012 15:52

We bought dd's Yr 6 buddy a mug which said "Best Buddy in the World" on it - bit naff but he was really chuffed. She also made him a card.

Agree with letting his parents know - maye a note in the card saying how much he helped?

plipplops · 17/07/2012 17:09

So she made him a card (with a picture of her marrying him on it - not sure what he'll have thought of that!!) I tried to get an amazon voucher today but they only had £50 ones so I got him a £10 cinema voucher instead. I did tell his mum but I've only seen her in the playground once, so I'm going to write him a card with the voucher in. Bless him he was on a residential trip last week (since I posted this) and bought her a little notebook as a giftBlush! It's so sweet...

Thanks for all your thought on this one, much appreciated x
