....but not bothered. "Because he didn't want to".

It is due in tomorrow and he's just come downstairs waving a memory stick saying "shall I print this off tonight?"

I told him it was over an hour past his bedtime and I was using the computer. He ran off saying he'll do it in the morning. I must have had a scary face. I'm actually really Angry and feel like unplugging the computer and printer so he can't do it in the morning, but I won't.

Just me feeling my anger, then.

Let him do it in the morning and don't remind him, let him do it himself.

Boys do this. At least he's done the work.
I would just let him print it out in the morning. You could point out that he was lax to assume printer would be working and paper available. It might have been broken!

But he could do soooo much better if he put some effort in.

I take it this is normal, then. His best friend puts loads of effort in to all homework the moment he gets it, much to DSs bemusement and amusement.

Won't be so funny when best friend gets a proper job, will it DS? ( I want to say this but haven't)

my dd would have done the whole project in the morning before school at school - how bad is that!
