DD is in yr 10.
It's a lot to take in, isn't it!!!
Dd Does not want to remain at her current school, so we will be visiting other schools in September.

I will have to get my head round it...anyone else starting to look around???

Ds is year 11 and had an induction over the last two days, he still doesn't know which school to go to. He really liked the school he was at today, but also likes his own school.
I will be sad if he leaves his current school, its a really lovely school and he has grown so much there, but the decision is his to make.

Do plan to visit as many options as possible in the Autumn Term. That takes some doing as some sixth forms are the same night as others - but some do more than one, so plan carefully.

Usually, these visits manage to sort the problem and the student just knows where they will choose. Other times it isn't as simple , like Briffins situation, but you still manage to sensibly whittle the choice down if you visit them.

Good luck, it's good fun too!

DD (yr10) has a visit to one of our 6th Colleges today. They spend the morning there and do 3 taster sessions and get to go home early so DD's happy and planning an afternoon in town once they've finished. They have another visit to the other college in a fortnight. DD has an idea what she wants to do but this changes on a weekly basis.

Sixth form visits already. Goodness me I'm not ready for that!

Its November around here but DS wants to stay at his own school. I'm not sure if he'll even want to look elsewhere. They are only school sixth forms locally so there isn't much point in moving although one school is offering free ipads to new year 12s this year to try an increase their numbers Hmm

Trying to start looking around for yr10 DD.
Absolute nightmare here with shortgage of decent places.

No open days before November here, neighbouring LA not till January. Many have no open day at all - either because too few external places or 15 applicants for each place, so no need.

Staying at own school looking unlikely, as her subjects always seem to clash there.
