If anybody has any knowledge or views on this school I would be very grateful to hear them. I was unhappy with the offer we received on March 1st and found this school and added it to the list as an after thought. We haven't been to see it but have been offered a place for September today.

My daughter has been for an interview at the original school but it is one I'm really in-easy with. Not too sure if I would be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire really, and would be grateful for any honest, fact based info!

Thanks

My friend's god-daughter attends the school. Her family thought it was an awful at the time she got in a couple of years ago but apparently the school has improved massively over the last 2 or 3 years. They benefitted from some rebuilding, and rebranding and it is improving it's reputation. For what it's worth I see girls from the school everyday on my way to work and behaviour on public transport seems fine.

What is the other school?

Slightly off topic but I cannot understand why LBHF schools are so undersubscribed and the likes of Henry Compton left to go to the wall while everyone is getting so excited about West London Free School and Hammersmith Academy.

The school will become Fulham College along with Henry Compton in September; info here.

Have PM'd you.

Thank you. We currently have a place at Hurlingham & Chelsea, which I know has had the worst name, but I can see a huge difference ( I have worked opposite for 5 years).

The staff at H&C have been great in taking on board my concerns as a parent and I'm just not sure if I would be swapping one bad school for another! Neither would be a top choice for me! At least at H&C I am able to pop in at any time if I needed to. I suppose this is the only positive.

I know someone who got H & C last year because they didn't get any school on their list and hated it because the Head failed to deal with bullying (because the protagonist was a very deprived child).

The child eventually left after the first term for another undersubscribed school in North Kensington, which has an awful reputation locally, but loves it.

I think there are some schools which have bad reputations but are on the up and parents just need to give them a chance. While saying that, you are not necessarily going to be stuck at the school if you hate it.

Thank you....I am a little dis-heartened to hear that about H&C as the Head was the most impressive part of the school!!!
I think you are right about parents having to give schools a chance and hopefully after my daughter has spent an induction day at both schools next week we will have a better idea what to do!

Good Morning,

I am an Assistant Head at Fulham Cross Girls' School and would like to reassure you that your daughter is coming to an outstanding (ofsted) school where she will be extremely happy!

I could spend hours extolling the virtues of Fulham Cross Girls' School, but by far the best thing to do is come and see us. As luck would have it we have open sessions this week. The one this afternoon is probably too late, but we have one on Thursday between 09:30 and 12:00 - The Head will speak at 10:00. If you can't make these times, please call me on 020 7381 0861 and I will take you around myself!

Some headlines to reassure OFSTED says the school is "Outstanding because it ensures outstanding achievement for all students and strives constantly to provide the best possible carer and education for each individual... students are exceptionally well prepared for the future."

We have excellent results and are in the top 10% of schools in the country for value added scores.

We are also small (600 ish students) which means we will know your daughter, she will not be an anonymous face in the crowd.

Finally, we have an exceptional transition programme for Year 6 into 7 students.

Please do come and see us and don't just take my word for it - you are welcome any time!

Best wishes,

Victoria Tully

This teacher said I was lying about having period pains, she frequently mocks and humilates girls and is racist, worst thing I did was go to this school
