Year 9 KS3 SATS Question

Summerz · 28/06/2012 19:12

When entering GCSE, do most schools predict GCSE Target grades by their KS3 sats?

If so, (I know this is probably asked a lot) what would ds' targets be for English and history? (all of his levels so far, no final overall levels as of yet)

History: 5a, 6b, 7c, 8c
English: 6b, 7c, 7b, 6b, 7a, 7b, 7a and 7 in SATS

Thanks!

Not sure about the English and history (science teacher here!) but we use KS3 results as an internal measure but their actual GCSE targets are set from the Fischer family trust data which is based on the KS2 data.

This a nationally set data which compares KS2 data across thousands of students to work out the most likely grade a student might get.

GCSE targets are set based on KS2 rather than KS3, but if your dc is achieving levels 7 and 8 now, you should probably be looking at raising targets to A*/A if they aren't already. 7 is officially equivalent to GCSE grade C (in fact, it's often better than this) so it's not too far to progress in two years to hit the top grades.

KS3 SATS don't exist any more. It is teacher assessed.

We measure by KS2 results as we have to achieve 3 levels of progress by end KS4. Then we factor in KS3 achievement.
