What are the normal rules about children taking photos in the school they attend?

In both my DDs schools, phones and photos are banned on school premises. In both cases although the penalty is confiscation, photos do appear on FB etc.

Dont k.ow what the rules say but DD has taken millions. Usually end of term ones. Of them being silly.

In my DS's secondary school where mobile phones are allowed there are strict rules about no photos or videos to be taken by the pupils on school property. This is an anti-bullying measure.

In my DD's primary school they're not allowed phones, cameras, ipods etc at all.

I am not aware of any 'rules' regarding this at any of my 3 dcs' (separate) schools.

Elibean · 18/06/2012 17:22

Children at dd's primary (which is small) are not allowed phones/cameras etc unless they have a specific reason, or permission, to have one. In effect, this means none on premises except when a child wants to take photos for a project - dd has done this several times, but always asks permission. She only takes photos of her own friends, and teachers, with their permission.

She also has some very silly ones (for a book she made for her HT) including one of HT dancing madly with a 5 year old, daft grin on face Grin

My DS' school allowed them to take cameras on their residential trip last week. (Y6) The question of cameras in school time has never arisen to my knowledge.

Phones & cameras were always allowed at my secondary school (00's)

On their last day my DS year 11 group took zillions of photos of themselves and teachers. Lovely souvenirs of a happy time.

Phones in bag and off between start of school and hometime. if they are seen they are confiscated until the end of the day.
