Help with schools in Devon and Cornwall

Am thinking of a move to Plymouth area but have two secondary age boys to find a school for. They are currently at a private school but would consider a good state school. Any suggestions? :-)

You are in luck, Curwain. Devonport High School for Boys is an excellent selective state school in Paradise Road, Stoke. Many boys go on to Oxbridge from there. Nearby private schools include Stover in an idyllic country setting. Torquay is about 30 miles away and has a brilliant grammar school imaginatively called Torquay Boys Grammar. Exeter has lots of brilliant private schools. Honestly though, if they can get into DHSB they'll be set for life. It's also good for sports especially rugby. I live in Plymouth, you are welcome to msg me if you want.

It really depends where you want to live, there are some great state schools in the city. Apart from DHS which has already been mentioned over on the East in the Plymstock, Elburton side of the City are Plymstock School and Coombe Dean School which are both great schools. Over in Plympton is Hele School which is also a great school.

I grew up in Plymouth and went to Coombe Dean as a kid. Loved it. Plymouth is a lovely place to grow up. We lived just outside in a village called Wembury which has a nice little beach and National Trust Coastline so we had the best of both worlds with rural and city just 10 mins away. LOVED IT!!!

DHSB has to be your starter for ten, if you can get them in.
