Does anyone know the grade boundries for the June 2012 Non calc paper?

I don't think they are released until the exam results come out. Look on Student Room they normally have discussion threads there for each exam and people sometimes hazard a guess depending on difficulty.

DD just did this today, said she found it v difficult. She's fed up because she revised hard but thought that however much revision she'd done she would have found it hard. Hope the next paper is easier.

BeingFluffy · 11/06/2012 16:22

I had a look on Student Room - apparently some people are still to take the exam and discussion about the papers is not allowed until then as any information could lead to the grade boundaries being pushed up! Presumably if the paper is hard the grade boundaries, go down a bit.

Kez100 · 11/06/2012 17:11

When my daughter did this paper in November the boundaries were available to the general public the day before the actual results.

Kez100 · 11/06/2012 17:12

Yes, edexcel have a 24 hour discussion ban because they are sat internationally.

Rache101 · 11/06/2012 17:32

Yeah, I heard it was hard, if it is any consillation Rafaella, last year, you only needed 46% to get a B and 60ish to get an A!

I don't get the grade boundary thing - surely if lots of people do badly the grade boundaries will be lower than if lots do well so that the same percentage get A* etc each year? How do they decide on the boundaries before the exam?

Rache101 · 12/06/2012 15:46

I think they just average it out over like the past 4-5 years, not sure though. Wonder if it is low this time, apparently the test was quite hard, so it may be reduced

DS was panicking at the weekend as they have changed the format and he really didn't like the new style papers. However after yesterday he thought it went ok.

empirestateofmind · 12/06/2012 15:52

My DD sat the exam yesterday here in Singapore at 7pm because of the time difference. Edexcel is very strict about the timings. The students are not allowed out of the exam room until after the latest time everyone can start in the UK.

BeingFluffy · 12/06/2012 15:53

I don't think the grade boundaries are decided until after the papers have been marked.

BeingFluffy · 12/06/2012 16:23

The answers and discussion of the paper are now on StudentRoom
