I live near Chester and my 15 year old daughter is struggling with her Maths, I have been given the names of 2 private tutors by other parents but I'm not sure what I need to look for and questions to ask them about what they offer etc. Do any of you have any experience of using private tutors? How have you found them and how good have they been? Have you used any agencies or just relied on word of mouth? What should I ask tutors before I decide who to take on?
My daughter just has a mental block against Maths and I'm really looking for someone who could get her over that by different teaching methods.
Also my 12 year old son has poor spelling and a low attention span and I would like to find help for him too.
Sorry for being long winded but it's a subject I know next to nothing about and I'd be most grateful of any help.
