Music test for Camden Girls or St Marylebone Girls

Ooh... my first post! Does anyone know about the music aptitude tests for either of these schools? I have a dd who is grade 3 recorder and grade 4 piano and, whilst there seems no point putting her in for the private school music scolarship tests, I was wondering whether it was worth trying for the music aptitude at Camdem and/or St Marylebone. Worth it or am I just kidding myself? Any advice or information much appreciated!

No personal experience, but a couple of girls from my dd's primary applied for music places at Camden. They have to do a written test and then an audition. It's always a long shot, because they have something like 200 kids applying for 8 places. These girls knew about all that, but still wanted to try, i.e. they were motivated.

One of these girls did end up getting a place. Having heard her at school concerts (I don't know what grade she was) I would say she was a very good player, but not an amazing child prodigy or anything like that.

It's always worth a shot, but all the girls I know who got in play orchestral instruments rather than piano etc.

RE St Marylebone - Not sure if they have changed it recently but a few years ago you had to be Grade 4 or over. I would agree about orchestral instruments but I think I heard of someone got in on voice, because I was thinking of that for DD, though she didn't like the look for the school for some reason! A journalist Rosie Millard wrote an article about her DD getting in on a music place a couple of years ago - perhaps Google it? On a smart phone so a bit difficult to cut and paste link!
Chelsea Academy do music aptitude places now - if that is not too far for you!
