Hi everyone,
I'm mum to two and I work with kids. We had a project going where a group of S2 pupils explored issues around child poverty in the UK and how to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage. They came up with a fab idea that parents play a big role in supporting children's education, and it's not all down to schools. They made a short film about it: The Smile Foundation U.
Now we're looking for simple top tips on how parents can support their children's education so that they do the best they can at school and I was wondering if people here had some ideas? We already have collected a few tips but looking for more!
Also lookign for parent pledges, a promise to your own child what you'll do different so that their education is better supported (I pledged to keep off the laptop/internet after getting home so that I pay them more attention).
There's a facebook page where pledges and tips can be added (or simply leave a comment here): The Smile Foundation.
Thanks!!!
Steffi
