What are people's experiences of this school? How much homework is expected per night? Is it an academic hot house or do the girls play hard too?

Thanks

I started there 20 years ago. Very academic but also sports, music and social life when I was there. A very good school IMHO.

Obviously I'm not still there :)

My dd is in Y10 there. I have never found it to be an academic hothouse. Most the girls who go there are bright, therefore the majority of them want to work hard and they do well as a result. They do have enormous amounts of fun as well. Dd still absolutley loves it and she is coming to the end of her fourth year there.

In terms of homework she does a lot now but they eased them in very gently in the beginning and throughout Y7 she was doing less than the children of my friends at the local comps.

Not actually about the school, but from the next round if admissions, only 20% of places will go to out of catchment pupils.
