Place in grammer school for 2013, Should I change Primary school

Hi all,

My DD is due to apply for secondary school place in Sept 2012. I have moved from Ruislip to Watford (School catchment?s area) to enrol for Watford girl?s grammar school. DD is still in year 5 and continuing her school in Ruislip. She wants to continue year 6 in her current school.
Does anyhow know if it will make any difference while applying for Watford girls grammar school, living in catchment area but still continuing school in Ruislip?
Will school reject the application coz of not going to local school at the time of filling application?

Round here - london - unless your primary school is a feeder school for a secondary school, hte primary has no impact on the allocation of secondary places. It is your home address that is used for measuring distance from school (if that is an applicable criteria). Presumably as you are interested in a grammar school the main obstacle will be your DD getting hte required marks in the entrance exam before any otehr criteria are looked at? Check the admission criteria forthe school.

Thank you Seeline and Custard Cake for your valuable comments. The school website does not say anything about current primary school. Not sure, if they want currrent school name and address on the application form. Will ring school.. but later as I know they will be flooded with calls for 2012 start.
