Any insight would be greatly appreciated loved both for very different reasons and have to make a choice! DS has a preference for W but also liked RGS and we feel that going co-educational might be better for him. He is very sporty and leaning towards W because of this... HELP!

I am biased as I have a DC at RGS and we love it!

Plenty of sport at RGS with many children representing county (and some country!)

Think RGS is going to get even better in years to come, with the arrival of the new Head in September.

Where do you live? Are you close to either school? In the end a major deciding factor for us was the fact that we live close to the school (walking distance). It was the right choice, as DS has lots of independence and loads of local friends, and he doesn't 'lose' 45 minutes at the beginning and end of each day sitting on a bus, so he has more time for homework/ friends and hobbies.

Feel free to contact me if you have specific Qs.....

Did he get a sports scholarship to W ? tbh I don't think there is any comparison in standard and reputation of the teams although I'm sure there is an elite at RGS too.

Sorry for not replying/messaging.

Thank you for information it has been helpful, decision 99% made. State offers today and Grammar offered and my first thought was how much I liked RGS! Gut instinct prevails over all the facts, figures, facilities, sports teams etc. It has his name written all over it and we are as sure as we can be that he will be happy. We have done a real u turn on this as W was always a clear leader. just so glad that I won't have to do this again!
