Have just received letter from my son's school stating that based on his mock gcse's he won't get enough points to stay on for 6th form.
Does anyone have any similar experience? Where do you start looking? How do I find a school that will take him if his current one doesn't want him?
Currently at Dulwich College - prefer somewhere sw london!

Try Richmond College. Eldest DS went there and enjoyed it and did very well. It's a very big college. Not sure about a late application.
Don't think you will have any luck with Esher College as it is much smaller and places will have been allocated and there will be people on waiting list.
Halliford School, Shepperton (independent school) has a 6th form. Some of their pupils leave after Year 11 to go to above 6th form colleges which could mean places available.
Not sure where you are though in relation to the above, although all SW London area.

we have had a similar letter from school in our time. it was badly worded.
we panicked that he was being kicked out.Shock
it was meant to be a spur to action.Hmm

they are saying that the mocks are not good enough; they are telling you to raise your game so that the actuals get you sufficient points
