ROADE SCHOOL, NORTHAMPTON

Hello, can anyone help me please. We are thinking of moving to Hartwell and have to consider secondary schools for my son who is nearly 8. Anyone who lives in the area will know that Roade School is on special measures. Do parents who live in Hartwell or surrounding areas send their children to other secondary schools, and if so which ones?

Not sure about Hartwell but I have family in Hackleton who are also in the Roade catchment area. I think Roade is supposed to be improving as some large scale changes have been made.

There is Northampton School for Boys if you can get through the entrance exams...

I think that Roade school has recently merged with Kingsbrook in Deanshanger Milton Keynes. The merged school is now called Elizabeth Woodville. From what I know pupils use both schools so I guess a google is in order or a school visit. It may be worth googling Kingsbrook first as it has recently had bad press (not academic). Personally I would avoid it from what I've heard.
