DS's sports kit

In the school uniform list it's stated that 'swim trunks - Speedo type - should be worn under games kit.'
My growing 14 year old doesn't seem to bother even though he's got a spare pair and is in the X country and rugby teams.
It seems quite a sensible thing to do but I don't know if I should insist or will he resist?

Unless you're also his teacher, I don't see how you can insist.

All you can do is ensure the right kit is available.

speedo under rugby shorts?Confused Doesn't he wear thermals / skins / compression / base layer / whatever-you-call-them. DS wears these to, ahem, keep things in place.

Thanks both for your replies. I will maybe have a word with him.

He'll hurt himself once and never do it again...

They are usually advised to wear these under shorts for showering purposes after PE however if showering is optional as it is at my DS school then there will be no point in wearing them!

Colleger you may well be right. DS has decided to wear them for todays match!
