Anyone else awaiting results for girls' independent schools SW London/Surrey?

My daughter sat exams earlier this month and the results are due in the next couple of weeks. Nail biting stuff. Anyone else in the same boat and wants to agonise with me?

Hi pupkin, yes we are waiting too! Has your DD had interviews and where is she/you hoping she'll go?

She's tried for Sutton, Surbiton and Wimbledon High. Her favourite changes every day, we just want her to go somewhere she is happy.
How about your DD?

We are trying Putney High and LEH, plus a couple of co-Ed schools as we keep agonising about the possible 'bitchiness' levels in an all girls school. I certainly did not really enjoy my girls' grammar school until the 6th form!

Putney interviewed everyone before Xmas, so just have to wait for the results to be posted next week. All the others will be at least another week and still 1, maybe 2 interviews to go! The waiting is just awful..... Has your DD had interviews? I know a few girls doing Surbiton but I don't think they interview do they?

dd on waiting list for LEH. Anyone else in same position for any other school? Would appreciate advice from anyone who knows more than me about the likelihood of eventual offer!

Hi blissedout, have you rung the school to find out where on the WL your DD is? We are very lucky as LEH is DD's 1st choice and she has a place, but we know of someone last year who got in from the WL. She was apparently in the "upper quartile" of a waiting list of 40 or so. So there is definitely a good chance for your DD, but I guess the major movement will come once the SPGS and G&L offers are posted on Feb 23rd. Plus some may be waiting on Latymer Upper etc due this week.

Hi TooManyJobs, congratulations first of all to your dd! And many thanks for your advice. I have rung the registrar and she says there are 30 on the waiting list at moment and my own dd is not exactly at the top. But it's good to know that at least there is a chance of some movement after 23rd.

Well done for phoning and I really hope you get some good news soon. Posters on other threads about waiting lists have advised that it can be a good idea to phone regularly to show how keen you are on the school, as the order on the WL isn't always that well defined......! All the best.:)

Blissedout - My friend's daughter is on the waiting list at Wimbledon High so is in a similar position to you. At least 1 girl from the same school has an offer from LEH but is waiting to hear about other schools, so you might be in luck.

Thank you both. Will give LEH a ring after 23rd and in the meantime keep my fingers crossed.
