Help- son is feeling very stressed over his English exam tomorrow. It's very distressing to see my strapping 15 year old worried that he will fail. I KNOW he will do well but how do I convince him?

Aw poor him. I just end up saying all the usuals "so long as you try your best that's all that matters" "it won't seem so bad once you are actually in there" and of course even though I don't like the whole resit culture "if its really that terrible you can always take it again". I add in food as well - a hot chocolate went a long way to ease DD2's stress.

A good nights sleep and a nice breakfast in the morning generally does the trick. If my DD has an exam in the morning I turn the internet off at 10 so she can't stay up half the night on facebook! But just reasure him that he'll be fine, maybe go through some notes will him as well. And good luck to your DS!

Mine stresses over homeowrk, let alone the exams - I find that hydrotherapy works well - send her of into the bath or shower before bed. Calms her down and sends her off to sleep happy.
