DD1 failed his 11plus by 3 marks (a whole other thread there about appeals which I won't start now.)

So now we are thinking options, with the rapidly approaching march 1st deadline, so we have just applied for a bursary pack for local independent school. I have an enormous form to fill in, bit like a mortgage application and then DD has to do a test, no idea what sort and an interview.

How on earth do I prepare him (and me!) or do I just let him go for the day and see what transpires.....

  1. Find out what sort of test and prepare for it. (I would just ask the school directly for a copy of a past paper)
  1. Find out what questions they might ask at the interview. You probably can't prepare your child for the interview, but it will make you less nervous. What ever you do, don't let your child know you are feeling nervous.
  1. If your child isn't offered a place, they would most likely have been unhappy there, so move swiftly on.

Thanks Lynette, you can see how stressed I was by the dumbness of my questions. Cant believe that we are thinking along the route - the things you do for your kids!
