Offers Day 1st March 2012

Anyone else feeling like we do about the impending Offers Day?

Not at all a foregone conclusion that DS will get into any of first five choices (all selective, two 11+ passes, one 11+ result due this coming week) so rather up in the air.... Sixth choice is okayish but DS has talked it down to the point that he is now desperately hoping it's not his one and only choice! Otherwise DS is being quite mature about considering that he could end up at any of the schools and is already thinking about which friends from primary school he is likely to stay in touch with etc.....

It all feels a bit as if life is on hold till 1st March.....

naffedoff, tomorrow afternoon?!

Did you get your first preference?

startail · 29/02/2012 22:16

Sorry DH interrupted, wanted to add good luck to all those waiting nervously.

DD refused to try for the grammar school, but one of her friends did so she's got her fingers crossed.
I half hope another friend doesn't get her first choice and ends up with DD, but I don't think anywhere is badly over subscribed here.

StressedSian · 29/02/2012 22:34

Bethnella I feel the same, re: feel sick all week etc etc

Night Night everyone.

Let's all come back tomorrow (or very late tomorrow in my case in Herts) with our news- sad or happy.

Thank you Gazzalw for starting this thread. You have all really kept me going these past few weeks.

All the best

StressedS

maxabella · 29/02/2012 22:52

good luccccccccccck all

Pantah630 · 29/02/2012 23:08

Good luck to all, we had the nail biting last year, worked out well for ds2 as he got his grammar place. Here's hoping all your dc get the places they want :)

KS2L6 · 29/02/2012 23:18

Staying up til just after midnight - good chance here ours will go at midnight and most locals are so laid back about the whole process system is unlikely to crash. We are fortunate that the least good schools locally are all 'good' with results above national average. It's just school we want is not catchment and is the best of the bunch.

Yes, I know we're lucky, but after an abysmal primary experience I feel like we need it. Good luck everyone! I wonder who will be first?

VivaLeBeaver · 29/02/2012 23:23

Tired.

drivinmecrazy · 29/02/2012 23:33

Am finding it really odd that people are getting on and posting about 'normal life' when at the moment my life is like a ticking time bomb, counting down to 12am, as if the rest of the world doesn't exist at this moment in my life Sad

drivinmecrazy · 29/02/2012 23:34

(Think that's another way to say I am shitting myself)

VivaLeBeaver · 29/02/2012 23:44

me too. Sad

Soon be over.

Cat2405 · 29/02/2012 23:56

Good luck people!

BoobyBrown · 29/02/2012 23:59

Am on edge for all those waiting for midnight results. Best of luck to you and your DC.

VivaLeBeaver · 01/03/2012 00:03

still nothing on website

KS2L6 · 01/03/2012 00:05

Booooooo, system crashed!

BoobyBrown · 01/03/2012 00:07

omg already CRASHED? It's a fucking shambles then if that's the case, 7 minutes in and system crashed??

KS2L6 · 01/03/2012 00:09

Well, something odd is going on, can't access it at all having logged on several times today.

kravings · 01/03/2012 00:11

aaarrrgghh HELP! is anyone else going through this problem - I tried logging in and it says that my passwork is incorrect. But I have used the same details to login million times before!

whiskersonkittens · 01/03/2012 00:18

good luck all - I am going to bed as cannot login, have to wait for email :(

BoobyBrown · 01/03/2012 00:22

one person said earlier today they couldn't log in and found out it was because they had been given the wrong password. Think an email got it sorted in the end.

VivaLeBeaver · 01/03/2012 00:23

DD didn't get her first choice, am gutted for her.

BoobyBrown · 01/03/2012 00:31

Oh Viva, so Sad for your DD and you.

Are you planning to appeal or will you go with the allocated one?

Lynli · 01/03/2012 00:35

We got our result at 3 minutes past, DS is happy. Good luck everyone else.

BoobyBrown · 01/03/2012 00:37

ah that's good news Lynli, relief.

VivaLeBeaver · 01/03/2012 00:38

I just don't think we have any grounds to appeal. I'm sure the admission policy has been applied correctly.

It means she'll have to go to a school with a 65% gcse pass rate rather than a 100% pass rate. (5 gcses at a-c)

BoobyBrown · 01/03/2012 00:46

Best of luck no matter what you decide to do Viva. Many on here have been through appeals process so will be able to advise come the morning.
