Offers Day 1st March 2012

Anyone else feeling like we do about the impending Offers Day?

Not at all a foregone conclusion that DS will get into any of first five choices (all selective, two 11+ passes, one 11+ result due this coming week) so rather up in the air.... Sixth choice is okayish but DS has talked it down to the point that he is now desperately hoping it's not his one and only choice! Otherwise DS is being quite mature about considering that he could end up at any of the schools and is already thinking about which friends from primary school he is likely to stay in touch with etc.....

It all feels a bit as if life is on hold till 1st March.....

Gosh I am so wibbly.

Tbh, the schools that DD2 will end up at are fine enough.

It's just the friffing uncertainty.

Gah.

mooze14 · 29/02/2012 20:38

what was the final answer?

we actually find out in the email ... or the email is to say the result is on eadmissions?

MaureenMLove · 29/02/2012 20:41

Just think, after tomorrow, it's all done. You don't have to worry or panic about school choices ever again!

Apart from GCSE Options..... And 6th form...... WinkGrin

Good luck everyone!

BoobyBrown · 29/02/2012 20:41

think its an email to say we can now log on to find out the results.

mooze14 · 29/02/2012 20:47

gosh i hope the site isnt to over run??

gazzalw · 29/02/2012 20:47

Think it depends where you are - we get the school allocated via email...and can then log on to reject/accept!

BoobyBrown · 29/02/2012 21:07

Right, off to watch OBEM.

Will be checking this thread all day tomorrow, hoping for good outcomes for everyone.

VivaLeBeaver · 29/02/2012 21:16

Dd has just been crying about it all.

BoobyBrown · 29/02/2012 21:22

ah Viva, that's sad.

Is she pinning all her hopes on one school?

VivaLeBeaver · 29/02/2012 21:26

Yes, she's desperate for her first choice. Which I'd also love for her to go to. But I have been so careful to not give her that impression, let her choose which school for the first choice, have told her that both schools are good schools, reminded her of the good points of the second choice incase she's disappointed tomorrow.

camarelia · 29/02/2012 21:29

Any room for a new addition to the thread? There are two schools where we live with a 50:50 chance of which one DD will go to. Problem is she loved one but hated the other :( Still holding out hope for tomorrow though.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but if it wasn't a leap year we would know the school allocations by now Angry

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 29/02/2012 21:30

Ah, viva - hopefully she can go to sleep soon and you could tell her in the morning ? Good luck to all MNers Smile Fingers crossed for everyone x

bibbityisaporker · 29/02/2012 21:32

I feel utterly detached from this whole process. Dd has no chance of getting in to our first choice, second choice is chosen by lottery, will probably get third choice which isn't our third choice in reality but is the only other school she has a chance of getting in to. I love where I live but the secondary school provision here is a.b.y.s.m.a.l.

BoobyBrown · 29/02/2012 21:39

Ah, will have fingers and toes crossed for your DD.

There's always one school that they think is the be all and end all.

It's a good thing that you say both the schools are good though, you have a decent back up should the worst (in your DD's eyes) happen.

Also not a bad thing that she's crying, probably needs to let out all that pent up emotion building to the big moment.

Bethnella · 29/02/2012 21:39

Roll on tomorrow...been feeling sick all week and just want to know now...spoke to pupil services for my borough today and they told me I should be able to log on tomorrow morning and find out but to be patient throughout the day due to high demand!!!! Why not just tell you via email at 7am and put you out of your misery????? I hope you are all happy with whatever decision comes your way...remember, we are ALL parents who care enough to be on here worrying about this so therefore our children already have the support in place to see them through the next 7 years reguardless what school they go to...positive vibes coming your way x

kravings · 29/02/2012 22:02

bibbity - we are in the same position, the borough I live in has one of most notorious sec schools. My 3rd choice is an ofstead outstanding school which is in my neighbouring borough - about 1.5miles from my door.
DS is nervous as well, my poor babay, but not showing to me. He had a long chat with his dad about his worries for the outcome of tomorrow which will essentially decide the next 7 years of his life!

Popoozle · 29/02/2012 22:04

I've just logged on to our admissions site to see if it says what time tomorrow we will get our e-mails (I'm sure it was midnight when DS1 got his offer) but, alas, nothing more specific than "1st March". The form is there, ready to accept the place though! Just doesn't say yet where that place is Confused.

bigTillyMint · 29/02/2012 22:04

bibbity (what's with the new name?!) GOOD LUCK! And that 3rd choice is still a good school Smile

startail · 29/02/2012 22:11

Well DD2 had better get her first choice because that's all we put on the form.

Feeder primary and DD1 is already there so I doubt there will be a problem.
