I would like comments from parents who have son/daughter in 6th form boarding at Dauntsey's School in terms of academic support, meals quality, atmosphere and so on.

Thanks mousehole. I found a lot about "down-to-earth, non snobby" from other websites+school website. Now it is confirmed by person..We felt the friendliness from email response too. Some schools were not like Dauntsey's.

Do check how many arrive in the sixth form and how many are already there. I have friends whose 2 DC started at age 13 at Dauntseys and although they were sociable DC they found it hard to settle as they were in the minority. They did settle in the end. It might be also useful to ask what team building days etc they do at the beginning of the sixth form. Not all schools do them and as a new 16 year old pupil I would think it was very useful.

Did you all like the headmistress at Dauntseys then?

Roro97 · 05/08/2013 17:18

Beagle38 how did your daughter get on at Dauntseys? We are thinking of sending our des there in 2014. We also live oversees, so very daunting.

Roro97 Did you sent your daughter to Dauntsey's? If yes, then what is it like? My daughter has been to a single sex school all her life but we're looking at Dauntsey's and Durham for sixth form?
