Please!

I don't know 'the rules' so I can't check DS1's h/w

  1. t3 (ie cubed) x t (A: t4 (ie to the power of 4)?)
  2. 2y x -2
  3. 6f4 (power of 4) x 4g2 (squared) x 3
  4. 2ab x 4ba (A: 8ab?)
  5. 2a x 2a x -2z x 5b

TIA!

  1. t^4
  2. -4y
  3. 6x4X3 f4 g2 = 72 f4 g2
  4. 8 a2 b2
  5. -40 a^2 bz

My answers:

  1. t(to the power of 4)
  2. -4y
  3. 72 f(to the power of 4)g(squared)
  4. 8 a(squared)b(squared)
  5. -40 a(squared)zb

Which seems to match the answers that MindtheGappp got so I think you're on to a winner.

Isn't it annoying that mn won't let us write the 'to the power of' numbers correctly?

Yes, don't they realise that down among the 'tmi' and talkin' dirty, there's algebra?

Thanks both, I just wanted to say that once you told me the answers, 'working' back was easy. I was trying to insert 'imaginary brackets' rather than separating out the 'like' terms and simplifying those!

I also admit -ahem- I had to look up the rules of what happens when you multiply minus and plus numbers...!
