DD2 will be choosing her GCSE options soon, and is quite keen on doing FT. The rest of her subjects will be academic rather than practical (I know there's a lot of theory etc in FT) but I'm happy for her to have one "fun" choice, and she loves cooking and baking. But, is FT at GCSE a subject which gets chosen by the less-motivated students, and is likely to have more disruptions that for example a triple science class? I know Music at her school suffers a lot from being regarded as a "doss" subject, and those people who actually want to be there are in the minority. I'd hate for her to spend two more years doing a subject she likes in a class of people who muck around and can't be bothered.
(I had the opposite problem with DD1 who had Maths as her "easy" subject and Latin as her "fun" one
)
