The usual Kent question, what score req. for Skinners (No not Judd!)

What is likely to be or what was the cut-off score for Skinners in TW?
Is it much lower on the second round?
Not sure if I would be jeopardising a place at TWGB if I listed Skinners first and hung out as long as poss?
Finally an all encompassing question..what could he get at Skinners that he may not at TWBG, obviously the history etc but how much more?
Any light that can be shed please!

At DD's school, it isn't known till the cut off date in March. I think the same goes for Skinners. Sorry it's not much help. I do have a friend who tried the wait and see game and ended up with a place for her son in Sittingbourne so be careful.

Not that there's anything wrong with Sittingbourne.

Thanks sue52, I am trying to guage how close the pass mark could be in relation to my son's score. I certainly wouldnt want to risk losing what he could have over a teeny tiny chance of getting something possibly only marginally better.

Apparently these are the Skinners scores in recent years:

Skinners
2009 - 405
2010 - 409
2011 - 407

I got this info from eleven plus forum - Try visiting the Kent region on there - there's bound to be someone with the info you need.

Smadarama · 26/10/2011 07:46

... Also - there is an 'equal preference' system which means that if you put Skinners first and TWGSB second - you won't be any less likely to get TWGSB than If you put it first - unless of course you got an offer for Skinners. The advice I've been given over and over is put the choices in the order you genuinely prefer them.

Smadarama Thanks very much indeed for the scores, did you also get the " equal preference" info from there too?
Pardon me for asking but is that reliable info? That would make it VERY interesting.

The equal preference system is pretty much the 'official line'. I've heard it from admissions in two different boroughs and on EPF and even here I think... Certainly everyone I know is proceeding on that basis - my friend's DS has got a guaranteed gs place in bexley but they putting St Olaves first choice and the test isn't even until next month. You will get absolutely loads of useful info on Eleven Plus Forum - it has become my oracle in recent months. Good Luck.
