I have received the example test papers from Colfe's. Does anyone know the percentage pass mark?

Thanks

There isn't a 'pass mark'. It's the top scorers.

It's not as hard to get into Colfes as it is to pass the 11+. I can't remember the ratios, but there are nowhere near as many children competing for one place at Colfes as there are for grammar school places. If, for example, they have 120 places and 400 people sit the entrance exam, then they will probably offer places to something like those with the top 250 scores (on the basis that a lot of people will use Colfes as a back up in case their children don't pass the 11+)

You're right, catwalker. A lot of the kids taking the Colfe's test also do the Olaves/Newstead Wood tests and Colfe's is thier (expensive!) back up.

I would think that too (about the highest scorers get in), but this year they hadn't filled the places and were still advertising in August!

Yes, the endless "we still have a few places available for September" adverts throughout the summer last year were quite telling... The other local independent schools all had waiting lists by that point.
